Dr Rob Paterson is a medical oncologist with a passion for providing evidence based and holistic care for his patients. He completed his undergraduate and formative training in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia. He obtained his fellowship in medical oncology from the Royal College of Australasian Physicians in 2015. He completed a 2 year clinical research fellowship with Breast Cancer Trials, alongside the commencement and development of his private practice. Rob has an interest in breast, colorectal and lung cancer but intends to provide a general oncology service in Maitland and will assist in the management of all cancer types.

Rob currently consults privately at Newcastle Private Hospital and The Breast and Endocrine Centre in Gateshead. He is also working in a staff specialist position at Muswellbrook District Hospital. Dr Paterson plans to build a high quality, integrated comprehensive cancer service in the local area. He aims to serve the people of Maitland and the Hunter Valley to reduce the stress of their diagnosis and management by providing a service closer to home without any compromise in the quality of their care.
