Mental Health Day Programs
Regular group therapy sessions allow people to gain skills and confidence at their own pace.
We have a range of Day Programs available for patients wishing to access mental health help without being admitted to the unit.
The programs on offer run one day per week over 6-21 weeks and are held on-site at Maitland Private Hospital. All programs run for 3.5 hours per session and have between 7 and 10 participants. Consistent attendance is required and allows for building trust, knowledge and skills from week to week.

Joining a Program
To enter a group, a referral is required from your GP or psychiatrist addressed to ‘Day Programs.’ An assessment with our Psychiatrist will be organised to determine which group is most suitable. You will then be placed onto the waitlist for the appropriate group.
Participants are admitted as a Day Patient and as such can attend via private health insurance, DVA or by self-funding. You will need to contact the hospital or your private health fund directly to confirm any out-of-pocket costs.
