Dr Benjamin McGuigan is a dedicated General Medical Oncologist with a wide range of experience in treating all cancer types, including special interests in Lung, Genitourinary, Gastrointestinal, Melanoma, and non-melanoma skin cancers.

Originally from Forbes, NSW, and growing up in central Queensland, Dr McGuigan is committed to providing personalised care to regional patients close to their homes. He completed his university training at the University of Sydney, earning a Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) and postgraduate Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).

Dr McGuigan obtained fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians and completed his oncology specialty training through Royal North Shore Hospital, Melanoma Institute Australia, North Shore Private, Sydney Adventist Hospital, and Lismore Base Hospital.

Currently, he serves both publicly and privately, holding a staff specialist position at Maitland Hospital with outreach clinics to Muswellbrook Hospital. Additionally, he operates a private practice at Maitland Private Hospital, where he also has admitting rights.
