Dr Mehrotra obtained his primary medical degree in 1999 and his Masters in Surgery (MS) after completing surgical training in India in 2001.

In 2006 he obtained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He subsequently worked and trained in Hunter New England Area Health for nine years. In 2016 Dr Mehrotra obtained General Surgery specialty credentials through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has just finished a 12 month fellowship in Breast and General Surgery at Gosford Hospital.

Dr Mehrotra has a particular interest in breast surgery, endoscopy, skin cancer and laparoscopic gallbladder and hernia surgery. He is endeavouring to acquire oncoplastic reconstruction skills in breast surgery from experts in the UK and Europe in 2017.

Dr Mehrotra is committed to contributing to the ongoing education of GPs. He is open to discuss a range of general surgical topics inclusive of:

1. Demistifying abdominal pain

2. Hernias - ventral, groin and others

3. Breast cancer treatment update
