Dr Konesh Thiyakesan is a Rehabilitation Medicine Physician. She has completed her Rehabilitation training in Sydney and during her training she worked in various tertiary hospitals including Westmead, Royal North Shore Hospital, Liver pool hospital and Nepean. She got her first job at Kurri Kurri Orththopaedic Rehabilitation service and set up that new service as the clinical director. She then joined JHH hospital team end of 2014 and working there as part time permanent staff specialist. She joined Maitland Private Hospital in 2012 and contributing her great service to it. She has admission right to MPH inpatient and day program. She runs her regular monthly clinic at Suite 5, at MPH.

Her special interests are

1. Spasticity Management –Assessment and management of spasticity including ultrasound guided intramuscular Botulinum toxin injection (both in patients and out patients).

2. Geriatric rehabilitation. It includes generalised reconditioning following acute surgical or medical event, joint replacement, fall or combination of chronic health issues.

3. Amputee Rehabilitation

3. Multidisciplinary management for chronic Pain.

4. Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

5. Neuro Rehabilitation

Dr Konesh prides herself on her passion and dedication to each patients’ journey through Rehabilitation. She always strongly advocates for her patient’s goals and their quality of life.
