History

Maitland Private Hospital was constructed in 2001 and was originally commissioned as a Surgical and Medical Hospital with 2 operating theatres, 24 surgical, 24 medical and 12 Post Natal beds.

During this time, Maitland Private has had two owners including Susan Ivens Trust Fund and Healthe Care who acquired the Hospital in 2007.

Since the acquisition, Healthe Care has undertaken extensive redevelopment works at site in order to meet the changing needs of the community.  With the addition of two additional operating theatres, a 44 bed rehabilitation unit, mental health unit and parking, the Hospital has more than doubled its capacity since its original construction.

Healthe Care Australia has realised the potential of this facility and its role in the local community. Working together with the surrounding medical precinct, community groups, doctors and relevant agencies -  Maitland Private Hospital is well positioned to continuing servicing the community well into the future.
